Oman to Work With UK, France on Strait of Hormuz Maritime Security

Oman has agreed to work with the UK and France to ensure safe navigation through its territorial waters, according to a joint statement released by the UK government on Friday. "The Sultanate of Oman has agreed to work with the United Kingdom and France to ensure that its sovereign territorial waters are safe for navigation," the statement said. The UK and France also said they stand ready to deploy a broader multinational military mission to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital transit route for global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments.
