EU Current Account Surplus Rises in Q1
The European Union's current account surplus grew to 113.4 billion euros in the first quarter of 2026 from 99.2 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2025, Eurostat data showed Friday. In the first quarter of 2025, the surplus was 104.9 billion euros.

The euro area's household saving rate remained unchanged at 14.3% in the first quarter compared with the prior three-month period, Eurostat data showed Friday. Meanwhile, the business investment rate in the eurozone rose to 22.2% from 21.7%.
