JERA Nex bp Consolidates Belgian Offshore Wind Holdings with Sumitomo Buyout
Offshore wind developer JERA Nex bp has completed the acquisition of Sumitomo Corporation's stakes in the operational Nobelwind and Northwester 2 wind farms, consolidating its long-term asset ownership portfolio in Belgium. The transaction hands JERA Nex bp 100% ownership of the 219-megawatt Northwester 2 project via the buyout of Sumitomo's 30% interest, the company stated. The joint venture also acquired Sumitomo's 39.02% holding in the 165 MW Nobelwind project, raising its total ownership stake to 80.1%, it said. Both assets are centrally developed, constructed, and operated from JERA Nex bp's primary operations hub located in Ostend, Belgium.
