Japan's National Tax Revenue Climbs to 84.2 Trillion Yen in FY25

Japan's national tax revenue rose to a record 84.2 trillion yen in the fiscal year ended March, Bloomberg News said Thursday, citing a document seen by the news agency. The higher income tax receipts were a result of higher wages, an increase in employment, and earnings on financial assets, the report said. Income tax revenue rose to 25.3 trillion yen, corporate tax receipts increased to 21.7 trillion yen, and consumption tax revenue inched higher, lifting total tax revenue in FY25 to a record for the sixth consecutive year, it said.
