Wallbridge Mining Evacuates the Fenelon Gold Project as Quebec Wildfire Risk Rises

() -- Wallbridge Mining (WM.TO) after trade Thursday said it temporarily evacuated its camp at the Fenelon Gold project in Quebec and suspended all drilling and exploration activities on its Detour-Fenelon Gold Trend property. The company said the move follows an evacuation order issued by Quebec's forest fire protection agency, SOPFEU, and the province's Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests because of increasing wildfire danger in the area. "The company will continue to monitor conditions closely and will resume exploration activities when authorities determine it is safe to do so," Chief Executive Brian Penny said, adding that the health and safety of the company's employees and contractors remain a top priority.
