French Stocks Trade Flat
The CAC 40 traded flat at around 7,888 on Wednesday, following two consecutive sessions of gains as investors assessed a mixed batch of corporate earnings. Stellantis climbed 3.1% after reporting improved Q3 operating income and reaffirming its full-year guidance. Danone also advanced 1.7% on higher Q3 sales, supported by price increases and resilient demand. In contrast, Rémy Cointreau fell 5.2% despite reporting better-than-expected Q2 sales. BNP Paribas edged down 0.2% even after a surge in revenue and the announcement of a new share buyback programme. Meanwhile, investors looked ahead to the European Central Bank’s policy decision on Thursday, with interest rates widely expected to remain unchanged. Attention will centre on the ECB’s forward guidance for clues about the monetary policy outlook.
