Taiwan stocks surge more than 2% in afternoon trading

Taiwan stocks at one point surged more than 2% Wednesday afternoon as investor concerns about AI eased. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index had rebounded for several days, supporting gains alongside Japanese and South Korean shares.
