Novartis announced its third-quarter 2026 financial results, reporting net sales of $14.52 billion, up from $13.91 billion in the same period of 2025. While core earnings and net sales increased, the company's operating profit fell by 59.11% to $1.84 billion, primarily due to a $1.9 billion impairment charge related to the drug del-desiran. Despite this charge, Novartis raised its core operating income guidance for 2026 and maintained its net sales growth outlook. The company noted that solid sales growth and productivity gains are helping to offset competitive pressures from generics and recent clinical trial setbacks.
