UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group up 1.84 percent, HSBC up 0.99 percent, BP down 1.21 percent, Barclays up 2.89 percent and Shell down 0.83 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS up 0.68 percent, Nestle up 0.04 percent, Deutsche Telekom down 1.46 percent, Novartis down 0.41 percent and SAP down 1 percent.
