FTSE 100 Rebounds on Monday
The FTSE 100 rose 0.7% on Monday, recovering from two consecutive sessions of losses. Computacenter surged more than 10% after upgrading its guidance, citing sustained demand related to artificial intelligence. Defence stocks also rallied, with Babcock climbing 6.5%, Rolls-Royce gaining 5.7% and BAE Systems advancing 3.5%. Lower oil prices boosted International Airlines Group and InterContinental Hotels Group, both of which rose around 4%, while Shell and BP fell 0.8% and 1.1%, respectively, as crude retreated from six-month highs amid continued US-Iran tensions and limited progress toward easing the conflict. Elsewhere, trading platform Plus500 raised its guidance after reporting continued positive momentum, while Airtel Africa maintained its outlook. Economic data showed October retail CBI survey improved sharply from September, but retailers remained cautious and expected sales to decline at a similar pace in November.
