Apple Upgrades iPhone DRAM
Apple is upgrading the DRAM specification for lower-tier iPhones equipped with the A20 processor to 9GB
iOS 27 will further deepen its system-level integration with Apple Intelligence.
My latest industry survey shows that to ensure the system still operates smoothly under AI loads, the DRAM specification for lower-tier iPhones equipped with the A20 processor in 1H27 will be upgraded to 9GB (1.5GB × 6-die), higher than the 8GB (2GB × 4-die) in current A19 models.
The three high-end models equipped with the A20 Pro processor in 2H26 (foldable model and two 18 Pro models) will maintain 12GB (1.5GB x 8-die). -- MING CHI
