FTSE 100 Starts Week Higher

The FTSE 100 rose 0.5% on Monday, attempting to recover from two consecutive sessions of losses. Computacenter surged more than 7% after the IT services provider raised its guidance, citing continued benefits from strong demand linked to artificial intelligence. Precious metals miners also advanced as gold prices gained, with Fresnillo rising over 3% and Endeavour adding more than 1.5%. Trading platform Plus500 reported that its recent positive momentum had continued and raised its guidance, while Airtel Africa maintained its outlook. On the downside, oil majors Shell and BP fell around 0.7% to 1% as crude prices retreated from six-month highs.
