Thailand Shares Rise Further to 4- Week High

Thailand’s SET50 Index rose for a second straight session on Monday afternoon, hovering near 1,060 and approaching a four-week high. Solid export and import growth in September boosted sentiment, alongside factory activity expanding at its fastest pace in nine months. Meanwhile, Thailand received investment applications totaling THB 1.7 trillion in January—September, surging 28% yoy, propelled by electronics, digital infrastructure, and food industries. Stronger U.S. stock futures also lent support as oil prices retreated ahead of the Fed’s interest rate decision later this week. Energy minerals and logistics led sectoral gains, followed by consumer and healthcare stocks. However, losses in non-energy minerals, manufacturing, and retail trade capped the upside. Among the top performers were Delta Electronics (1.7%), Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (1.6%), Bangchak Corp. (1.4%), and Cal-Comp Electronics (1.1%).
