European cash markets finished lower: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.31 percent, the DAX closed down 0.75 percent, the CAC 40 closed down 0.36 percent and the FTSE 100 closed down 0.32 percent. UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group up 0.25 percent, BP up 4.35 percent, HSBC down 1.07 percent, Barclays down 0.6 percent and GSK down 1.04 percent. continental European volume leaders were UBS down 0.18 percent, Novartis down 0.68 percent, Nestle down 0.79 percent, Deutsche Telekom down 3.17 percent and SAP down 0.44 percent.
