Lockheed Martin Announces Framework for 850 F-35s Over 10 Years
The framework targets production of 156 aircraft per year and includes spares and modifications. Final contracts remain subject to multiyear authority and congressional appropriations.
Lockheed Martin said it had reached a framework agreement with the U.S. Department of War covering multiyear production and sustainment of 850 F-35 aircraft. The plan covers 10 years and calls for a production rate of 156 aircraft annually, with provisions for spares and modifications. The framework is intended to provide long-term demand visibility and support factory utilization.
Contracts have not been finalized and remain subject to the necessary multiyear authority and appropriations from the U.S. Congress.
