US Stocks Indices Lifted by Tech Rebound

US stock indices closed mostly higher on Monday as a rebound in heavyweight AI stocks offset losses across broader sectors. Tech gains lifted the S&P 500 by 0.4% and the Nasdaq 100 by 1.2%, while the Dow closed near flat. The advance marked a reversal from last week’s tech weakness, when underwhelming financial results from Anthropic and signs of debt stress among cloud providers, particularly CoreWeave, dampened demand for speculative positions in the sector. Dip buyers lifted Micron by 3.1%, Intel by 3% and Amazon by 5%. Nvidia (+1.4%), Alphabet (+1.2%), Microsoft (+0.8%) and Tesla (+3.4%) also advanced. Bank stocks fell following last week’s earnings releases, with Morgan Stanley down 1%, Bank of America losing 1.7% and Wells Fargo slipping 2.5%.
