IRGC Spokesman Warns of Tougher Retaliation Against US Military Action
Hossein Mohibbi claimed US bases in the region have lost combat effectiveness and said the IRGC is prepared to respond more forcefully. He warned even limited US military action could trigger a severe global energy crisis.
Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohibbi said the United States lacks the ability to start another conflict or secure gains. He claimed most US bases in the region have lost combat effectiveness and that US forces have moved hundreds of kilometres away from Iran. Mohibbi said Washington is technically and militarily unable to begin another round of hostilities, but warned it could stage limited “victories” ahead of its election. The IRGC said it is ready to respond and that any retaliation would be tougher than before.
It also warned that even limited US military action would trigger a severe global energy crisis.
