Reuters reported that TSMC is expected to make the base dies for Nvidia’s custom NVHBM chips, which would mark Samsung’s first reported HBM manufacturing collaboration with TSMC. Nvidia reportedly asked TSMC for its 3nm process and requested sixth-generation DRAM technology from Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron. NVHBM places Nvidia’s custom memory controller in the base die, potentially broadening TSMC’s role in advanced AI memory production.
