Argentina grain sales hit record 105 million tons so far in 2025/26
By Kylie Madry Oct 16 (Reuters) — Argentine farmers have sold more than 105 million metric tons of grain so far in the 2025/26 season, a record for this point in the cycle, the Rosario grains exchange said on Friday. The exchange said the volume, which includes soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum and sunflower, was 25% above the average of the last five years and nearly 6 million tons above the previous high. "In line with an extraordinary production campaign, by the week of October 7 more than 105 million tons of grain had already been marketed," the exchange said in a weekly report. Rosario also said the share of sales with prices already fixed was advancing firmly, signaling steady commercial activity by producers. The report added that wheat shipping commitments were rising, led by demand from Asian countries, while corn prices in Chicago fell sharply after the latest US Department of Agriculture report. Argentina is a major global supplier of soy products, corn and wheat, and grain sales are closely watched for signals on export flows and foreign-currency inflows.
