Goldwein Questions Sanders’ Social Security Tax Plan and Funding Claims

Marc Goldwein of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget questioned whether raising or eliminating the Social Security payroll tax cap would fund the benefits Sanders proposed. Goldwein said raising or repealing the cap could close about half of the shortfall if benefits were not increased.
