South Korea vows to closely watch stock market volatility
SEOUL, Oct 16 (Reuters) — South Korea's finance ministry said on Friday it would step up financial market monitoring and closely watch for any impact of recent stock market volatility on bond, foreign exchange and short-term money markets. At a meeting a day after the benchmark KOSPI dropped nearly 8% to a six-month low on worries about AI, the ministry said recent stock market volatility was higher than in other markets due to the differences in sector proportions, though fundamentals remained solid.
