US Cash Soymeal — Basis offers mostly flat
CHICAGO, Oct 15 (Reuters) — Cash basis offers for soymeal were largely unchanged at rail and truck terminals in the US Midwest on Thursday, as futures fell and the U.S. soybean crush missed trade expectations. The US domestic soybean crush last month fell short of trade expectations, according to a monthly National Oilseed Processors Association report released on Thursday, which showed the September crush at a 13-month low of 196.3 million bushels. The USDA is due to release weekly export sales data early on Friday. Analysts surveyed by Reuters expect net US soymeal sales in the week ended October 8 at 200,000-600,000 metric tons for shipments in the 2026/27 marketing year. Rains slowed the pace of field work in the western Midwest on Thursday, but a drier pattern was expected in the upcoming week, according to forecaster Commodity Weather Group. CBOT December soymeal settled $4.70 lower at $359.80 per ton.
