Europe Distillates — Diesel profit margins fall

LONDON, Oct 15 (Reuters) — Diesel refining profit margins fell on Thursday after the International Energy Agency agreed to release diesel from emergency reserves. Low-sulphur gasoil futures traded at $80.43 a barrel above Brent crude futures by 1633 GMT, $1.96 lower than the previous close. In the Platts window, BP bought a Northwest European diesel cargo from Glencore. The IEA on Thursday agreed to release over 20 million barrels of diesel to the market as soon as possible and any oil remaining from a record emergency reserves release pledged in March to help supply and cool soaring prices. The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian diesel had begun to reach global markets following an agreement with US President Donald Trump. US crude stocks and distillate inventories fell while gasoline inventories rose last week, the Energy Information Administration said on Thursday.
