European cash markets finished mixed: the Euro Stoxx 50 closed down 0.36 percent, the DAX closed up 0.33 percent, the CAC 40 closed up 0.78 percent and the FTSE 100 closed up 1.08 percent. UK volume leaders were Lloyds Banking Group up 1.05 percent, Barclays up 0.14 percent, BP down 0.6 percent, HSBC down 0.1 percent and Shell down 0.09 percent. continental European volume leaders were Deutsche Telekom up 1.23 percent, Nestle up 2.76 percent, UBS down 0.13 percent, Novartis up 2.64 percent and SAP up 2.19 percent.
