German Savings Banks Chief Says Growth Could Curb Political Polarisation

The head of Germany’s savings banks association said the country’s nascent recovery could curb political polarisation seen in recent state elections. The government raised its growth forecasts to 1.3% for 2026 and 1.1% for 2027, from 0.5% growth.
