(Adds details) LONDON, Oct 15 (Reuters) — The International Grains Council has raised its forecast for 2026/27 global corn production, driven mainly by an upgraded outlook for the US crop, it said on Thursday. The intergovernmental body, in a monthly update, forecast that global corn output in the 2026/27 season would total 1.307 billion metric tons, up 6 million from its previous projection. The US corn crop was upgraded to 407.3 million tons, up from 401.3 million forecast last month, reflecting an upward revision issued by the US Department of Agriculture last week. The IGC also kept its 2026/27 world wheat crop outlook at 820 million tons. The outlook for global soybean production in the 2026/27 season was trimmed slightly to 439 million tons from 440 million seen a month ago.
