This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: Residential Ducted Lossnay® by Mitsubishi Electric The Residential Ducted Lossnay by Mitsubishi Electric provides a continuous supply of filtered outside air, can help dilute indoor contaminant concentrations, and offers humidity control and year-round comfort. This Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) certified Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) is designed to reduce containment concentrations of the conditioned air while providing continuous whole-home ventilation. This whisper-quiet Lossnay unit integrates into new or existing HVAC ductwork, delivering a steady supply of outside air to living spaces.

Available with either a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) 10 filter or an optional MERV 14 filter, the system can dilute indoor contaminant concentrations by filtering incoming air before it enters a room. The unit's selectable airflow settings, ranging from 40 to 110 cubic feet per minute (CFM), provide flexibility for a variety of home sizes and residential ventilation requirements. Bringing in outside air through mechanical ventilation offers the key benefits of filtering the air before introducing it to the space, supplying outside air to multiple zones and controlling the air exchange rate.

Homes without mechanical ventilation can only introduce outside air by opening windows and doors, which breaks the building’s energy-efficient seal, allows unfiltered air that may contain pollutants to enter and does not promote proper airflow. Designed with installation flexibility in mind, the compact unit measures less than 9.5 inches high and 20 inches wide, making it well suited for a variety of residential applications. The unit can be mounted between joists, fixed directly to a ceiling, suspended from a ceiling, or mounted horizontally on a wall.

An integrated access port simplifies commissioning by allowing contractors to easily measure pressure and balance airflow. Built for reliable performance in challenging climates, the Residential Ducted Lossnay unit combines advanced energy recovery technology with intelligent defrost control to support ventilation performance in outdoor temperatures as low as -13° F. This cold-climate capability helps homeowners and renters maintain access to filtered outdoor air across a wide range of environmental conditions while protecting system performance during periods of extreme cold.

"The Residential Ducted Lossnay unit reflects our commitment to developing solutions that address the growing importance of ventilation in today's homes,” said Anneliese Bals, Sr. Product Manager — Air-to-Water, Residential, at METUS.

"By helping balance outdoor-air intake with energy-conscious operation, it offers a practical way to support indoor air quality and overall home comfort across a wide range of climates."
