Automakers face a growing challenge as they transition to AI-enabled vehicles with more software: critical quality, performance, and operational issues often emerge across organizational and technical boundaries. Valuable insights are distributed across vehicle networks, cloud systems, engineering documentation, service records, and human expertise. Traditional tools typically analyze only a single domain, leaving OEMs to manually connect the dots. Introduced in July 2026, the Sonatus Fastlane Platform addresses this challenge with a cloud-to-edge AI architecture that continuously connects data, reasoning, decision-making, and action throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

By combining vehicle intelligence, AI-powered analysis, and automated execution in a closed-loop system, the Fastlane Platform enables vehicles to learn and improve long after production. “Sonatus has developed a truly differentiated automotive AI program,” said Bryan Vaughn, managing director of AutoTech Breakthrough. “The Fastlane Platform goes beyond traditional tools that address a single category of vehicle data or diagnostics to reason across domains and closes the loop from detection through action.

This ability to combine AI-powered reasoning, contextual data collection, and in-vehicle intelligence gives manufacturers a powerful new way to improve vehicle quality, accelerate development, and reduce operational costs.” At the core of the platform is a continuous cycle of detect, collect, reason, act, learn: Fastlane™ Collector captures rich vehicle context in real time, including CAN and Ethernet traffic, ECU logs, diagnostics, telemetry, and software activity. Rather than generating massive volumes of raw data, the system intelligently captures the information most relevant to a specific issue or use case.

Fastlane™ Insight delivers AI-powered root-cause analysis and decision-making by reasoning across both structured vehicle data and unstructured human knowledge, including engineering documentation, service manuals, technical service bulletins, test reports, and OEM expertise. Rather than hunting for exact fault signatures, it recognizes patterns that resemble known failures, enabling engineers and service technicians to trace intermittent, cross-domain, and previously unseen issues to their cause. Fastlane™ Edge extends intelligence directly into the vehicle, enabling actions based on AI-driven insights.

This includes executing diagnostics, updating software, gathering additional evidence, and validating hypotheses in real-world operating conditions. Together, these capabilities create a unique automotive AI platform that identifies problems and helps resolve them to continually improve future outcomes. The result is a system capable of reasoning the way experienced engineers and technicians do, while operating at cloud scale across millions of vehicles. “What distinguishes the Fastlane Platform is its ability to connect every stage of the diagnostic and quality workflow into a continuous learning system,” said Jeff Chou, co-founder and CEO of Sonatus.

“By combining cloud intelligence, in-vehicle AI, AI-powered reasoning, and automated action, we are enabling automakers to move beyond reactive troubleshooting toward a future where vehicles continuously improve throughout their entire lifecycle.” About Sonatus Sonatus® delivers cloud-to-edge AI for smart vehicles. Its Fastlane(TM) Platform enables OEMs and suppliers to achieve faster time-to-production, lower lifecycle costs, and continuously improve their vehicles — from engineering and development through production and service.
