The launch is the first major integration of Mastercard and BVNK capabilities since Mastercard acquired BVNK in August 2026. Global Money Platform is a modular, full-stack infrastructure layer for modern finance. Banks, fintechs and enterprises can embed multi-currency accounts covering fiat and stablecoins, real-time conversion, stablecoin-linked cards and local bank payouts through Mastercard Move into their own branded products. They can also manage treasury, payments and settlement activity directly on the platform.

Customers can begin with the capabilities they need and add others as they become available, reducing the need to integrate separate providers for different stages of the money journey. Payments company Nuvei, card-issuing platform Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the first expected to integrate the platform. The platform is designed to help customers move between traditional currencies and stablecoins, while widening their options for accepting, managing and moving money across markets. One example is a manufacturing business that receives payments in multiple currencies and pays suppliers globally.

Managing these flows currently requires businesses to coordinate separate accounts, vendors and pre-funded balances across markets. That can tie up working capital and slow operations. Mastercard Global Money Platform brings liquidity management, transfers between fiat currencies and stablecoins, receivables and payouts together in one place. At the platform’s core is a global money account, a multi-currency account that can hold fiat currencies and stablecoins side by side.

Users can convert between them through a single API and manage and move funds through one integration. The platform also offers configurable rewards and other account features. Fintechs and technology platforms can embed the accounts into their services, giving customers a place to hold funds, convert them and pay out earnings. The platform also integrates Mastercard Move, Mastercard’s global money movement capabilities, which reach more than 17 billion endpoints.

This enables users to use stablecoin balances for local-currency payments directly to recipients’ local Coverage is expected to expand to more than 40 currencies across 200-plus countries and territories in 2027. Global Money Platform customers will be able to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard’s global acceptance network, which includes hundreds of millions of merchant locations. Card issuing will be available in 130-plus countries. Preparing for what’s next, Global Money Platform is a full-stack, modular toolkit for sending, receiving, converting, storing, spending and earning.

It is designed for a multi-money future in which new forms of money, networks and payment models continue to emerge. Future support is planned for agentic commerce and additional regulated forms of money, including tokenized deposits.
