QTR Research Warns NVIDIA Could Face Pressure to Support CoreWeave

QTR Research cites intertwined investments and business ties as a potential dilemma if CoreWeave’s financial position deteriorates. The company says its roughly $104 billion revenue backlog supports its debt obligations.

QTR Research says NVIDIA could come under pressure to rescue CoreWeave ($CRWV) if the latter’s financial position weakens. The firm warned that the companies’ intertwined investments and business ties could create a financial dilemma. NVIDIA supported CoreWeave’s 2025 IPO by purchasing $250M in shares, then invested another $2B in January 2026. 3B through 2032, subject to contractual conditions.

CoreWeave reported about $52B in debt and lease obligations as of June. Its 2032 unsecured bonds recently traded below 80 cents on the dollar, with yields above 15%. QTR argues that a decline in CoreWeave shares could erode investor confidence, limit access to financing and intensify liquidity problems before any debt default. Given NVIDIA’s roles as a major investor, GPU supplier and computing customer, it could face competing financial incentives to support CoreWeave rather than risk disruption to their relationship.

In response, CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator maintains that its approximately $104B Revenue backlog more than covers its debt obligations.
