Iran's Ghalibaf Says Fighting Aims to Pressure US in Negotiations

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf said negotiations and US promises cannot guarantee Washington will stop attacking Iran. He described fighting as leverage to press the US to accept Iran's demands, while saying it does not mean endless war.

Iranian parliament speaker Ghalibaf said neither negotiations nor US assurances can ensure Washington will stop its attacks on Iran. He described a two-stage approach: gain strategic advantage through fighting, then use that leverage to press the US to accept an understanding. He said the aim is to turn military gains into political benefits, resources and time to strengthen deterrence. Ghalibaf said pursuing fighting alongside negotiations does not mean an endless war, but is intended to pressure the enemy to accept Iran's legitimate demands.

He accused the US of breaking earlier commitments and said Washington must be punished, change its behavior and ultimately accept Iran's terms.
