NOPA September US soybean crush estimated at 203.737 million bushels

By Karl Plume CHICAGO, Oct 14 (Reuters) — The US soybean crush likely dropped to a one-year low in September due to scheduled processing plant downtime and as some plants in the western Midwest ran low on crushing supplies due to harvest delays, according to analysts surveyed ahead of a National Oilseed Processors Association report due on Thursday. NOPA members, who represent nearly all US soybean processing capacity, were estimated to have crushed 203.737 million bushels last month, according to the average of estimates from nine analysts surveyed. The estimate, if realized, would be down 0.8% from the 205.456 million bushels processed in August but up 3.0% from the September 2025 crush of 197.863 million bushels. The estimate reflects an increase in the daily processing pace to 6.791 million bushels a day, up from an 11-month low in August of 6.628 million bushels a day. The US crush typically begins to ramp up in September as farmers start harvesting soybeans. But excessive rains in Iowa and surrounding states stalled field work last month so several processors in the western Midwest were forced to slow operations or halt the crush altogether, analysts said.
