UPDATE 1 — Jordan buys about 60,000 metric tons feed barley in tender, traders say

(Adds other offers, expected new tender) HAMBURG, Oct 14 (Reuters) — Jordan's state grain buyer purchased about 60,000 metric tons of animal feed barley in an international tender on Wednesday, European traders said. The barley was said to have been bought from trading house Olam at an estimated $307.00 a ton, cost and freight (c&f) included, to be shipped in the second half of January 2027. Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later. Traders said these other trading houses participated in Wednesday’s tender with their estimated price offers per ton c&f: Al Ghurair $314.80, Bunge $316.00, Dreyfus $315.00 and Soufflet $311.00. Traders said a new tender seeking 120,000 tons of feed barley is expected to be issued by Jordan in coming days and is anticipated to close on October 21. Traders said the new tender is expected to seek the same shipment periods as Wednesday’s tender. This would be in various combinations in 50,000 to 60,000-ton consignments in 2027 between January 1 and 15, January 16 and 31, February 1 and 14 and February 15 and 28.
