UK watchdog reprimands London police over unlawful data sharing

LONDON, Oct 14 (Reuters) — Britain's data watchdog said on Wednesday it had issued an enforcement notice to London's Metropolitan Police after finding officers unlawfully shared personal information on an unapproved third-party platform used to identify suspected shoplifters. The Information Commissioner's Office said personal details of 179 people, including three under the age of 18, were uploaded to the platform in 2024.
