Rural and Urban Indian Consumer Optimism Slides in 2026

Reserve Bank of India surveys show confidence about current conditions and the year ahead weakened through 2026, reversing gains recorded in 2025. By the September 2026 survey round, both measures had fallen below an unspecified level.
