Asia Distillates — Diesel cash premiums fall further to three — month low
SINGAPORE, Oct 14 (Reuters) — Asia's diesel cash premiums slipped to three-month lows, with the backwardation in prompt timespread values narrowing further, though spot window trading activity remained tepid. Some buying interest surfaced from a key regional importer for November shipments, while deals were done in northeast Asia at discounts. MDIS/TENDA Traders were also trying to forecast Chinese-origin exports for November, given the limited export quotas on hand for some of the oil majors. Meanwhile, the east-west price spread widened for the first session this week, closing at nearly $170 a ton in the afternoon trading session. Freight costs to ship around 90,000 metric tons of refined fuels on this trade route were estimated at $150-160 a ton, several trade sources say. Refining margins extended gains, surging back to a two-week high of $68.9 a barrel. Cash differentials slipped to their lowest since early July of $1.44 a barrel. On the jet fuel front, a handful of deals were done late last week to early this week at small premiums linked to free on board Singapore prices. Regrade closed at a narrower premium of around $1.5 a barrel. Singapore Cash Deals O/AS - No deal for je
