INDIA STOCKS — Indian shares off to a muted start as oil prices, foreign outflows weigh

(Updates for markets open) Oct 14 (Reuters) — Indian shares opened little changed on Wednesday after logging gains in the previous session, with rising oil prices and sustained foreign outflows weighing on sentiment while investors assess corporate earnings. The Nifty 50 dipped 0.03% to 22,715.75, while the BSE Sensex edged 0.02% higher to 73,049.76 as of 09:15 a.m. IST. Twelve of the 16 major sectors logged losses at the open. The broader small-caps and mid-caps shed 0.1% each. Both the Nifty and Sensex climbed about 1.6% on Tuesday, led by information technology stocks after HCLTech's quarterly profit beat expectations. Oil prices rose to about $107 a barrel as traders weighed supply risks from fighting between Yemen's Iran-allied Houthis and Saudi Arabia against the prospect of increased diesel supplies from Russia.
