Philippines central bank chief says focus on price stability, but conduct of monetary policy has changed

BANGKOK, Oct 14 (Reuters) — The Philippine central bank governor said on Wednesday that monetary authorities remain focused on price stability but the way they conduct monetary policy has changed. Scenario analyses have come of age because of high oil prices and the El Nino weather pattern, and the central bank takes them much more seriously because of uncertainty they create, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona Jr. said during IMF-World Bank meetings in Bangkok.
