US Cash Grains — Corn, soybean bids mixed as harvest increases
CHICAGO, Oct 13 (Reuters) — Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mixed in the US Midwest on Tuesday as producers turned their attention to harvesting amid a window of ideal harvesting weather. Dry conditions have quickened harvesting and steered fresh grains into marketing channels that feed the US Gulf. Market attention has turned to the USDA's weekly crop progress report, which is due after Tuesday's market close. The report will show the extent to which work gathered speed in drier weather last week before showers are due to return this week. On the Chicago Board of Trade, corn futures were last 3 cents higher at $4.86 per bushel. Most-active CBOT soybean futures were 3-1/4 cents higher at $12.91 per bushel.
