Bishop Street promotes Fiato to chief business officer
By Navneeta Nandan Oct 13 (The Insurer) — RedBird Capital Partners-backed Bishop Street Underwriters has promoted Richard J Fiato to chief business officer, the company announced on Tuesday. In the expanded role, Fiato will lead legal, compliance and human resources across Bishop Street and its operating companies. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Conifer Insurance Services (CIS) and president of Aerospace Insurance Managers (AIM). The company also announced that Bill Wilson succeeds Fiato in both roles as CEO of CIS and president of AIM. Wilson brings more than 25 years of experience across specialty insurance programs. He was previously the president of commercial lines at a specialty insurance MGA, Bishop Street added. He also worked for more than 10 years at VGM Insurance. Fiato will remain on the boards of CIS and AIM and partner closely with Wilson for a smooth leadership transition. Fiato has over 33 years of business experience, including 28 years in the insurance industry. He joined Conifer in 2013 and became a part of Bishop Street after it acquired CIS in 2024. In June, Bishop Street hired Galway Holdings' Karman Chan as its CFO.
