Exclusive: Resilience cuts over 10 jobs including North American distribution and strategy head Riviezzo
By Isha Marathe Oct 12 (The Insurer) — Cyber insurer Resilience has laid off its head of North American distribution and strategy, James Riviezzo, as part of job cuts affecting around a dozen employees, sources with knowledge told The Insurer. Resilience said it does not comment on personnel matters. The reductions, which began in September, have affected between 10 and 12 employees across several functions, including underwriting, actuarial, marketing and threat intelligence, sources said. Riviezzo joined Resilience from rival cyber insurer At-Bay in August 2025, where he previously served as head of national broker relations. "With the hiring of James, we continue to invest and expand our bench of industry leaders to help Resilience deliver better solutions to our clients," George Kotsiopoulos, Resilience’s president of insurance, said in a statement to The Insurer at the time. In an interview with The Insurer TV in May 2026, Resilience president Mario Vitale said Resilience is navigating a soft cyber market by expanding geographically and growing its security software business.
