Merz Says Germany Is 30 Years Late on Pension Reform

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the country was at least 30 years late in overhauling its pay-as-you-go pension system. He said worker and employer pension contributions would have to rise temporarily to accommodate demographic change.
