Amynta hires ex — Hudson CEO Gallagher as head of insurance
By Michael Loney Oct 12 (The Insurer) — Amynta Group has appointed former Hudson Insurance Group CEO Chris Gallagher as head of insurance. Gallagher announced his new role on LinkedIn, and described Amynta Group as an industry-leading builder and buyer of program administrators. The executive worked at Hudson for 24 years. Hudson is the US insurance unit of Fairfax Financial-owned Odyssey Group Holdings. Gallagher was appointed president and CEO of Hudson in 2009, and took on the additional role of CEO of Hudson Crop and Livestock in late 2024. The executive’s 40-year (re)insurance career includes serving as chief underwriting officer at Sirius American Insurance Company and underwriting and management positions at Transatlantic Re and Chubb Re. Amynta serves carriers, wholesalers, retail agencies and the automotive and retail sectors with insurance and warranty protection solutions. Odyssey announced in July that Gallagher had decided to retire from Hudson, effective October 1, with Odyssey CEO Carl Overy assuming the role of president and CEO of Hudson in addition to his current responsibilities.
