Exclusive: The Hartford promotes Chin to lead Navigators wholesale casualty
By Mia MacGregor Oct 12 (The Insurer) — The Hartford has promoted Charles Chin to head of wholesale casualty at Navigators, the insurer's specialty business. Based in Los Angeles, Chin will lead an integrated casualty strategy spanning primary and excess casualty, with a focus on underwriting, portfolio management and improving coordination for brokers and customers. Chin has spent seven years with the organization, most recently serving as senior managing director of wholesale excess casualty underwriting for Navigators. Lynanne St. Denis, head of wholesale property and casualty at Navigators, said the appointment is intended to strengthen the company's ability to offer more comprehensive solutions to insureds. "We want to be able to do more for each individual insured," St. Denis told The Insurer. "We want to be able to come out with a solution that is more streamlined, efficient and better from a claims-handling perspective." St. Denis described Chin as a highly respected casualty leader who has helped unify The Hartford's casualty organization and position the business for continued growth.
