About 30% of US Gulf oil production shut in response to Isaias

Oct 12 (Reuters) — US producers in the Gulf of Mexico shut in about 29.63% of the current daily oil production and 24.81% of the current daily natural gas production in response to Hurricane Isaias, according to the Marine Minerals Administration. MMA said that as of Monday at 11:00 a.m. CDT personnel have been evacuated from five production platforms, representing 1.35% of the 371 manned platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, workers have been evacuated from one non-dynamically positioned rig, equivalent to 9.09% of the 11 rigs of that type currently operating in the Gulf, the agency said.
