POLL — US crude stocks expected to have risen last week; product inventories likely fell

Oct 12 (Reuters) — US crude oil stockpiles were expected to have risen last week while product inventories are likely to have fallen, a preliminary Reuters poll showed on Monday. Three analysts polled by Reuters estimated, on average, that crude inventories rose by about 1.9 million barrels in the week ended October 9. The poll was conducted ahead of scheduled weekly reports from the American Petroleum Institute at 4:30 p.m. EDT (2030 GMT) on Tuesday and the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy, at 10:30 a.m. EDT (1430 GMT) on Wednesday. Crude inventories fell by 3.2 million barrels to 424.1 million barrels in the week ended October 2, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.7 million-barrel rise.
