Stocks end week higher; bitcoin rises to about $82,300

U.S. indexes finished the week with gains, while bitcoin moved up to around $82,300. The update also noted Treasury yields near 5.24% and WTI crude around $91.65.

Now Dow component JPMorgan Chase and other big bank stocks are getting ready for the kick-start of third-quarter earnings season. 6%. 6%.

Outside oil-and-gas plays, Atlassian climbed more than 1% to hit a new high, rising to levels last seen in July 2025. The stock was a recent addition to IBD Swing Trader. Ten out of 11 of the S&P 500 sectors were in the black. Real estate, health and consumer discretionary gained 1% or more each while communication services lagged and technology eked out gains.

m. ET AMAZON, MICROSOFT GAIN; APPLE FALLS Among Dow components, Amazon and Microsoft advanced, rising 2% or more each. 57 in a cup base. Shares are on a seven-day winning streak.

Apple and 3M fell more than 1% apiece. m. ET METAL NAMES SHINE ON IBD 50 Metal miners were on the rise on Friday among stocks on the IBD 50 list. Aura Minerals was a top performer, gaining nearly 11% as shares rebounded from their 50-day moving average and cleared the 21-day moving average.

m. ET SPACEX JUMPS; VERIZON, AT T DIVE Shares of SpaceX, jumped nearly 3% Friday morning after the company said it plans to buy significant wireless spectrum, bolstering its Starlink service. It's looking to bounce back from two days of heavy losses.
