Qualcomm’s lawsuit against Arm Holdings will go to a Delaware jury Friday, after a five-day federal trial. Qualcomm alleges Arm breached licensing terms by withholding software patches and chip-design tools, violating pricing protections, and intentionally interfering with Qualcomm’s dealings with $META Meta by allegedly leaking a 2024 license-breach notice to Bloomberg to undermine its business dealings with Meta. Qualcomm's lawsuit against Arm Holdings goes to a Delaware jury Friday, with Qualcomm alleging licensing breaches and intentional interference with its dealings with Meta following a five-day federal trial. Qualcomm says Arm withheld software patches and chip-design tools and breached pricing protections designed to keep its licensing costs within 10% of Arm's lowest comparable rates. Qualcomm also alleges Arm leaked a 2024 license-breach notice to Bloomberg in an effort to undermine its business dealings with Meta. Arm denies causing Qualcomm harm and says the case is an attempt to gain leverage in licensing negotiations.

Qualcomm is seeking the right to suspend royalty payments for five years if Arm breached its agreements. The judge has not ruled on the provision, and Arm says it is unenforceable. A 2024 jury rejected Arm's bid to establish Qualcomm had breached its license. Qualcomm's current architecture license runs through 2033, while a separate trial over Arm's good-faith negotiations awaits a judicial decision.
