Pentagon to livestream Hasan execution at Fort Hood on Dec. 3

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the U.S. military plans to livestream Nidal Malik Hasan’s firing-squad execution scheduled for Dec. 3 at Fort Hood, Texas.

By Lara Seligman and Anne Flaherty The Pentagon said it plans to livestream the firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, a former soldier who admitted to killing 13 people in the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood Army base in Texas. " The execution is scheduled to take place on Dec. 3 at Fort Hood, Texas, the same base where the shooting occurred on Nov. 5, 2009.

A servicemember hasn't been executed by firing squad since 1945. "It hadn't been since World War II since we've done that. " "It was a radical Islamist attack in uniform inside the ranks, and so he's going to get a firing squad of soldiers, as it should be," he said. Under existing Army regulation, an execution can be attended by select members of the public, including family members of the victims and members of the media.

But executions aren't witnessed by the broader public.
