Infosys falls after U.S. suspends green-card program access

Infosys shares fell after the U.S. government said it would suspend several major technology companies from the Permanent Labor Certification Program. The move also affected Cognizant, Microsoft and Adobe.

By Mariapaula Gonzalez Shares of Infosys dropped Thursday after the federal government said it would suspend major technology companies from a program that allows skilled foreign workers to obtain permanent residency. Department of Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling said Thursday that his team would suspend several major information technology companies from the Permanent Labor Certification Program, which allows companies to apply for green cards for H-1B visa workers.
